"I also demand car chicanes be put across the road at Haymarket as I find that very congested and that cars are making it a virtual "no go area" for cyclists. "

No. Speeding (over 30mph?) cyclists must be stopped.

Motorists should never be asked to slow down to a speed that
most cyclists can't even get to (20mph) unless going downhill.

Cyclists are just as vulnerable to being killed or injured as
pedestrians are but the difference is that cyclists don't
matter.

You see?

Congestion on roads. Solution = build more / winder roads.

Congestion on paths. Solution = build obstacles.

If the Forth Road bridge is too congested and we need to spend billions to create more capacity surely it would be cheaper to put a couple of fence chicanes across it as obviously that is the magic solution for traffic congestion.

I also demand car chicanes be put across the road at Haymarket as I find that very congested and that cars are making it a virtual "no go area" for cyclists.

"
Pedestrian organisations are calling for more strategically placed chicane obstacles to force speeding cyclists to slow down or use alternative routes.

However, Islington Cycling Action Group, one of the signatories, argued against the installation of more chicanes on the towpath. They say that this action should not be taken until a safe alternative road route has been established.
