Just slightly.

It's an interesting exercise in trust and communication.

I've just been on the back of the tandem with someone from this forum... (no names!)

Round the park but then onto the road... Causewayside, Grange Road... tandeming in traffic - you can't beat it.
Benefit is you have a witness to any stupidity you may encounter!

Highly interesting

Swanning about, groan!

Well we went to try out the tandem Sunday past. The Meadows was full of runners unfortunately but we managed to use the bit down the side instead which didn't curtail the fun.

The Circe Helios was good fun to ride and although my position looks a bit funny there it felt fine. I like the idea that it can carry cargo as well though if it were me I would need to practise cornering a bit since having a ride on it on my own, you definately felt that the bike was longer than normal going round corners!

I have never ridden a tandem before and it was pretty scary to begin with. Especially with my husband at the front! Don't tell him. ;-)

And Velovision is a really cool magazine filled with my favourite things, bizarre bike contraptions, hurray.

Plus Laidback is a very nice chap, aside from doing something as cool as the "Golden Swan". I'm still trying to rope a friend in for a recumbant tour, I will get there!

An example of the kind of EN letter we might expect should the swanways ever be built.

      'Idiot' swans are needing protection

THE problem of discourteous swans is not limited to the city and its parks. I travel daily to and from Livingston on the A8 and whilst segregated swanways have been recently constructed I have yet to see a swan use one.

They prefer risking their own safety and the safety of (insured) vehicles by swanning about on the road during peak traffic times, darkness and even in times of limited visibility. Something really needs to be done to protect these swans from themselves.
A Clark, Glasgow
