However, the investment in facilities and the excitement of two large scale sporting events coming to Scotland in 2014 (Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup) will be used as a catalyst to excite and energise our efforts towards increasing physical activity.

Oh come on, you have got to be joking! More like will be used as an excuse to sit in front of the telly all day by most folk.

How is Scotland performing?
There has been an increase in the proportion of adults meeting physical activity recommendations from 37% in 2009 to 39% in 2010. This continues the general increasing trend since 1998 although there have been some fluctuations year-on-year.

Aye, the graph shows we are back up to 2008's level after a 2% decrease in 2009. I suppose Scots who were made redundant, lost their businesses etc. in the recession were just sitting about and drowning their sorrows in cheap supermarket booze, eh? Whereas last year, they got on their bikes and looked for work after the Bru threatened to stop their giros.

Meanwhile, the other 61-63% of adults were happily driving their cars to KFC/McDonalds/Starbucks for a big bucket of chicken'n'beans, burgers'n'fries, and a full cream double choco frappucino.

Were the "New National Indicators added to the National Performance Framework" mentioned last week?
For "Increase physical activity", "What will influence this ..." sounds unrealistic to me.
