You can't really see with them along and I use them to suppliment my visability at night and to save power to the main light when I'm on well lit paths where I don't need a front light to see by.</p> <p>I ride an Orange cyclocross with black leggings and yellow florecent top if you recall what the rider looked like. They were very good and noticeable. They would only work on drop handlebars though.
