Rigorous enforcement of bus/cycle/taxi lanes. I'm looking at you, Mr MacDonald's lorry this morning.

Repaint all the contraflow cycle lanes, and grant me the skills to cycle directly over any cars that park on the double-yellows, blocking the lane and forcing me to overtake into oncoming traffic. Hopefully the spikey tyres would result in a neat holepunch effect.

@DaveC

have now found Alice McGarry's local SNP newsletter:

Inverkeithing Harbour Update

It has now been accepted that the Harbour and Ballast Bank is in council ownership. Realistically, I can't see any prospect of major work being done in the area until the paper mill problem is resolved.

Caldwell's Paper Mill

The mill will be demolished within the next 6 months. Contractors are on site removing asbestos etc. The site is designated in the Local Plan for Housing.

Install some sort of part-time traffic signals on the Calder Road roundabout at Longstone Road. Terrible sightlines at all times, and it becomes impervious to cross traffic at peak times because east and westbound drivers occupy the roundabout.

I'll ask my local prospective councillor on Friday in the pub. He has said in the past, if any builders were to buy the land to develop it would have to have a coastal continuation of the existing Fife Coastal Path, as a condition of permission.

do something about the two direction at the bottom of Ardmillan - cycling to Dalry is difficult when cars think Murieston road is a straight on and doesn't need indicating. Especially scary when it is a big van or lorry
as it is I have worked out the timing so I can set off from the lights changing to green from Harrison Road, coast down slowly dabbing the brake (n almost instinctive number of times) watch the traffic heading from Henderson Ter to Murieston wait to get their go time as the lights change and then use my speed to pas the stationary traffic on the right and get onto Dalry before they get moving. However if someone doing the afore mentioned Henderson to Murieston doesn't get out of the way it can often block the entire junction causing me to have to zig zag through three or four cars in a gridlock
Oh and resurface the entire of Dalry but mainly the bus stop opposite the Shell garage as that nearly had me off when a car was too close to the cycle lane (indeed the wing mirror was IN the cycle lane then they had the cheek to beep me when I managed to pass then tried to turn left OVER me into Cathcart place after beeping and me skidding to a halt *deep breath* tw-un-t)

Resurfacing Restalrig Road. On the way to work there are a series of inter-surface-deposition-section ruts past which I have to pick a side. Going on the left puts me too close to parked cars whilst to the right puts me in that special position which enrages idiots as it looks too obstinate. On the way back there's a series of utility covers and mini-potholes at the point where it's tricky to pick a line to get into position to turn off, due to oncoming traffic having to be in the middle of the road to avoid all the parked cars on their side and following traffic trying to overtake after being blocked by the recent series of traffic islands.

Otherwise, forcing all drivers to listen to a special commuter radio service which broadcast soothing music over which "just slow down... you'll get there in the end... you won't save five seconds by overtaking that cyclist... look, there's another car just in front of them... that's the car which was in front of you two miles back... just ease off the accelerator and save some fuel... whilst you're at it, why not leave a little braking distance just in case you're so focussed on looking for overtaking opportunities that you forget to watch traffic lights and then seem perplexed when the vehicle in front of you stops, maintaining their position in the lane..." and so on.

Ok quick question that I think may be useful. What one change would make your commute safer?

For me it would be removing all parking from the bridges to south clerk street. There should be plenty of room to keep away from everyone but there is always someone parked there. Main culprits are the bottleneck at crosscauswayside as you come into town and the festival theater which *always* has something outside it.

over to you!
