If they're wanting to regenerate the square and make it more pedestrain-friendly, it seems a no-brainer to do that. You just have to look at how St Andrew Square has been opened up following the development there. Something needs to be done, as currently it is just a mess. I am sure that Sir David Murray is in favour, he lives there, it would mean his property would increase in value, win/win for him. I wonder if he will be putting his hand in his pocket towards the improvements. I think that the centre of Edinburgh is not pedestrian friendly at all, so much so that I prefer to cycle around than walk, so any improvement for them is better. The NIMBY's (lawyers) in Randolphe Cres/Ainslie Pl. have already started moaning, so how about open Glenfinlas Street off Charlotte Square down to St Colme Street/Queen St, like it used to be, if there is to be traffic.
