Yep, do events, so ken that, but doing that while managing to keep the ambient light level so low is quite impressive.

I know it's just basically black paint and non reflective surfaces, still think it's a neat trick.

You just need some 'barn doors' on the lights, at least that's what we called then in my 'TV' days.

Nope, it's the darkness and high volume music custom designed to terrify anyone over the age of 32. Which is funny, as they are the people who can probably afford to shop there.

The Abercrombie/Hollister shop model is a work of art from the shopfitting/display point of view, they fact they can somehow be pitch black inside, but have the products brightly lit is quite an amazing staging trick to pull off.

The A&F store on Saville Row in London is worth a visit just to gawp.

Uberuce, you are SO a Kooples Model, do you have a willowy/slightly junkie looking Koople to go with you though?

There's one of those Hollister shops in Glasgow, how are old people (ie me) supposed to find their way about and not bang into things?

I hope the one in Edinburgh has lights!

Will bearded cargonistas love it though?

prices typically starting at around £65 for a t-shirt.

Nah, I'll stick to Debenhams, M&S and charity shops, ta. Some wonderful, seemingly unworn, quality shirts in our local 'thrift store', many originally purchased in George Street or (whisper it) Regent Street...

Arrgh the Kooples, everything about that brand is incredibly annoying. The bearded fixie riding set will love it.

It's a shame that george street is taking all the interesting retailing that princes street should be, mixing the high street shops with the upscale stuff like (actually rather nice) anthropolgie and even white stuff and Hollister would make it a bit more appealing.

But then again, I don't know any city anywhere where the shopping is concentrated on one street (apart from Dunedin) and I guess it's similar to Oxford Street/Regent Street in London.

Must be the ready availability of c*r parking then, clearly. Can't be all those buses trundling up and down making craters in the roads. Nor the proximity (walking distance) of George Street to most expensive residential and business areas of Edinburgh in the New Town and West End respectively.

"
“George Street is undoubtedly the place to be located for upmarket fashion brands and the store will fit perfectly next door to Anthropologie and near the new Hollister store, which is currently being fitted out.

“Brands like these appreciate that George Street is very much a lifestyle location with lots of great bars and restaurants.”

"

http://www.scotsman.com/edinburgh-evening-news/edinburgh/french_fashion_chain_measured_up_for_george_street_1_2129352

Well not everyone has 'abandoned the high street' then.
