<description>&#60;p&#62;chdot, not sure if you scanned the comments, its not great reading - currently only 1% of daily journeys taken by bike - so looks like the council have pretty much zero chance of increasing that over next few years.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Auckland is a big sprawling place, and (certainly when I was there in 2004) very car-minded - that said, outside of Auckland, main roads quickly turn from dual carriageways into A road at best - so presume that is what they will try and 'improve'.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Nice countryside for cycling though, similar to Scotland and lots of pie shops!
