After eventually deciding to take the exit for the road down to the Scotsman (his course was somewhat wavering and uncertain) he then pulled into the middle (presumably to turn off onto the grass) and started braking. With the sole of his foot on the rear wheel. Would this be because he perceived it to be somehow cooler or because he genuinely had no working brakes?
