What a lovely hub.

in The Bike Chain yesterday a chap came in for an adjustment on a retro bike (Old frame a company in London had painted a lovely light green). Dasha wallped his headset with a large rubber hammer. He overtook me on it later (going quite fast). He had a five speed hub - I assumed it was SRAM but maybe not

"I read the title and assumed it was about the SA S3X hub."

I had to read that 3 (sic) times to get the joke...

Oh the tabloid need to put everyone and everything into boxes (:-< )
I am a drive cars, I drive trucks sometimes, I ride motorbikes, I cycle, gosh-darnit I even walk places sometimes (smelling salts for the daily rage readers at the back)and shock horror, I have enjoyed them all at different times.

Doesn't make me a committed Motorist, Truck driver, Biker, Cyclist or even pedestrian...

No-one sensible would say "only eat X type of food and never erver Y" (except fad diets which are NOT sensible). In the same way we shouldn't view only one means of transport as the whole and only answer. Moderation in all things has a lot going for it... currently our fossil fuelled vehicle use is excessive, imho we don't need to ban it anymore than we need to ban sugar, we do however need to introduce an element of balance, no chance of that however in the red tops (sigh).

Well at least cycling is on the front page.

Problem is it's the Scottish Daily Express and it's a very heavy spin on the report that was discussed here yesterday.

10% off the roads budget for cycling - if only!!!

In any case it would be cycling AND walking.

Things that even 'motorists' do.

Photos of article + editorial

Scotsman story is a bit more rational - and the readers' comments are uo to standard...
