Not giving it beans, but not pootling. I think I see someone a distance back, but think nothing of it. As I get to the top of the tunnel I'm suddenly aware of someone <em>right</em> on my tail. Very close indeed.</p> <p>Ah well, he's a lot faster, thinks I, swallowing pride, figuring he'll go past if not before we hit the main roads, certainly once we get onto the Meadows. Except he basically drafts me all the way through to Tollcross.</p> <p>Once there... He skips through red on the wrong side of the road, crossing with pedestrians over the Lauriston Road junction, and onto the pavement. Automatic disqualification. Faster than me, but loses on a technicality. </p>
