arf, SPLINK is a brilliantly crap acronym. Almost like the slightly piss-taking BATBYGOBSTOPL.

I've muttered that to a pedestrian once before as they stepped out in front of me: "You weren't a member of the Tufty Club were you."

Didn't see the response.

I don't really like the new Dt Who but that could be because I'm not the same kid I was when I watched Tom Baker at my granny's house on a Saturday evening.

I went to see the first Tom Baker story, Robot, in the GFT about 10 years ago. They were rolling in the aisles when the ultimate weapon was unveiled. It was an Action Man tank pulled by a string.

The audience counting along with the timer on the screen didn't help much.

I prefer Star Trek, even the 60's version has aged reasonably well outwith the mini skirts. I'm not complaining about the minis but they do date it a wee bit.

You are saying Tom Baker was the best I take it. David Tennant has been excellent and the new one Matt Smith is shaping up nicely. Watch out for bow-ties and braces catching on in the tweed run. All he needs is a porkpie hat and he has the complete Malcolm X look.

I only liked SPLINK because it had the second best Dr Who. Where I lived at that time there was no pavement so these things didn't apply.

SPLINK good but it didn't stick with me, not like Jimmy HIll - 'A tragic, needless accident' - "Think once, think twice, think bike' Genius. Anyway Guardian Easter crossword proving tres difficile. Anyone know the current name of Bridgetown beginning with A?

There's been mention on other threads about RS and 'public information' films.
