Was listening to the News Review on R4 and they had Margaret what used to be on the Apprentice (as well as Esther Rantzen and the (former?) editor of Vogue who is now a novelist) talking about the papers.</p> <p>Margaret declared that she'd found a story about a 'new' threat on the roads, and this threat was called the MAMIL. Odd, I thought, that's not new... Anyway, she proceeded to say, "<em>I'm terrified of cyclists when I'm in my car, and even more terrified of them when I'm a pedestrian.</em>" I've heard this before, people in cars being terrified of cyclists. I presume they actually mean 'terrified of hitting cyclists' - in which case just give us a bit more room non?</p> <p>The Vogue-editor commented that she actually quite liked driving behind a fit cyclist in lycra. </p>
