The main benefit of pedestrianising Princes St would be views of the Castle/Old Town uninterrupted by buses. Perhaps a bit of milling around near the Galleries and the West End, but otherwise a lot of empty space to supplement the existing pavement and gardens.</p> <p>George Street would be a much more human, livable and useful space - shops both sides, cafe space, Assembly Rooms as centrepiece. TBH i'm not really sure Princes Street would benefit much from pedestrianisation.
