I'd like to take the old iron horse for the classic style and good turny heady looking aroundy posture, but the brakes make it a social liability - the riding speed will be so slow that there's no safety issue, it's just a faux pas to collide even at 2mph.

I think therefore I'll flipflop wee blue floofy to fixed. I've use for the goatiness and hands-free speed control.

I was wondering about using the sparebike for additional cobble-resistance but since changing the bars on normalbike it looks less drop-bar-special-equipment-go-fast-ish and it copes with the Royal Mile's cobbles on a daily basis anyway. I have purchased a new cap for Saturday in case it's too windy for my wide-brimmed floppy sunhat to protect my face from the burny sun.

Now that is very tempting!

I've been wondering which bike to take and what stereotype to comply with; hipster, mtber or roadie.

Clearly I've got to bring the Pino...

If I'm marshaling I'd prefer to be only responsible for myself, so who wants to pilot the Pino?

There'd be no pedalling, as it would reveal the unpandaic length of the human legs within the costume. It was only when the ones at the zoo were wandering about (or scratching the middles of their backs with their legs) that they stopped resembling people-in-costumes.

Mild thread hijack, but if we do get that panda costume, I reckon the front of the Pino is the best place for it.

In my limited experience of full head pieces like that, you can barely see out of them, which pretty much means the panda's either on foot or in stoker.

The Pino edges out any other tandems on the day since it allows the cutesy lying on back munching bamboo posture that our monochromatic celibate friends are apt to adopt.

I'm not too fussy...

The former would provide more power, but the latter could be used as pedal extenders to let the younger ones contribute more!
