If you're cycling down the road with Hi viz / Lights / a H****t and in primary position and someone accelerates into you from a side road that person need's to be taught a lesson and the best place to teach them is the wallet/insurance company. You have sustained injury to your body and mind, your bike clothing helmet are damaged. You have witnesses. The driver should be charged.<br /> The only time I've ever been hit by a car on the bike I was about 18 years old and I totaly let the guy drive off wthout even getting his reg or phone number despite having a broken bike /helmet/ jacket/trousers and badly cut knee. All I asked for was the cost of the damage to my bike which was amazingly only £65. She sent the cheque as soon as I told her the cost without issue.</p> <p>I was in quite a lot of pain for the first few days, and had mild whiplash for about 4 weeks, as well as being mentally scarred for a while.
