SRD - I was in my solo recliner. Event was stacked with featherlight road bikes. Irene andI need more practice on project Quetzal.
Arellcat - I finished by 2.15 so avoided the rain.
Didn't knowingly meet other forumers. Did meet chaps from Dunfermline and Kinross + Richard from Leith Cycles + the guy that runs Spin Cycle. Plus the handbike guy from Cramond who had powered round despite the obstacles on parts of the route.

Hope you didn't get too wet! I spent all day in the garage mending Big Things, and my bikes, which I'd shunted outside to make more room, now have soggy seat cushions.

I've cycled the Erskine Bridge, Forth Road Bridge and the Tay Bridge, but not the Clackmannanshire Bridge yet.

Saw a few families out. Short ride was to Cragies Farm. Well done to the youngsters as the route did have a few short hills.
Signage was missing on some bits... Notably the NCN to bridge. Of course it is an established route but good to have it confirmed.
The Limekilns path is very narrow and some bits of route to Culross were pretty circuitous - yes know that's the point!
Clackmannanshire has very wide path beside road. Had first go over the new bridge at Kincardine.
Pretty good day out and was pleased my Helios tandem rentees did the whole 70 miles. A great effort by them as they don't cycle all the time.

Yep, I'm doing the Family Ride with daughter and neighbour's daughter. Weather forecast looking vaguely hopeful, so long as we start sharp @ 10:30.

I saw the tagline from a sponsor "Alpine Bikes are giving every participant a FREE inner tube – an essential piece of kit for every cyclist!"

I'd have thought a complete bike was 'essential piece of kit for every cyclist', and if they gave every entrant one they'd have a lot more entrants raising money for 'Charidy'

Hello,

Thanks for taking an interest in the Tour de Forth 2012.

There are four different routes to choose from around Scotland’s beautiful and scenic Forth River- something for every cycling enthusiast!

The Tour de Forth Classic is for cyclists looking for a 70 mile challenge around the River Forth, starting and finishing at Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal.

We also have the Tour de Forth Sportive, which is a timed option of the same route.

The Demi Tour de Forth is a half route for those who prefer a 35 mile challenge, with the choice to cycle from Kincardine to Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal, or from Ocean Terminal to Kincardine.

Finally, we have the Tour de Forth Family Ride, which is a day event for all ages and abilities- a leisurely ride from Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal to Craigies Farm in South Queensferry, stopping for family friendly activities, before heading back to Ocean Terminal, 22 miles in total.

The event is to raise funds for Mercy Corps- Edinburgh's international charity.

We currently work in more than 40 of the world's toughest places to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities and survive emergency situations. Our approach means that we work closely with communities to give them the tools, knowledge and skills they need to pull themselves out of poverty and create a better future.

If you would like to know more about the event (or even our choice of photies!) Please get in touch with any questions.
