Locking a bike to another bike is a classic way of prepping it to be nickedt, however sounds a bit like it was just a bit of a chump.

You know, that hadn't even occurred to me! If I do come across that situation in future, I'll re-consider the "go home and come back later" option!

I think this was either someone being distracted/stupid, or just thought "Ill be back before this chap is... "

Yeah, there's a brand new looking shiny white Giant MTB locked outside a tenement on my street. D-Lock is engaged to top tube of frame, great, but then it in turn is locked to a cable loop, which is locked to a drainpipe. Hmmm. Anyone got any bolt croppers? A brand new MTB for the taking. Otherwise, just nick the QR wheels.

I tut-tut-tutted my way back from the convenience store...

After parking bike near Waverley Station for a few hours tonight, came out to what I thought initially was someone having locked their bike through mine, onto the railings.

Closer look showed that they'd locked their D lock through my D-lock. So at least I could get my bike unlocked.

But sorry, dear Cannondale Synapse rider, I did hang around and look for you for a fair bit, but there was no way I could lock your bike up again. Did the best I could to make it look like it was still locked.

But if its gone, that's down to your rubbish parking.
