Before I got the waterproof trousers that can be rolled up to the size of an apple and don't cook me inside and a pair of the overshoes I got sick of the potholes on Shandwick Place literally filling my shoe like goldfish bowl and wore the poolside speedo flip flops to cycle in (it was too cold this morning for that), amused at the way the water washed over the toes and straight out the back, wore the hi vis mesh jacket with no tshirt, tempted to stop at haymarket and break out the shower gel
My fingers froze this morning and I got a flat on the Telford-Granton path (grrr) - anyone pass me?

Your skin is water proof, so just wear shorts and change when you get to work ;-)

I have no idea how these compare to others (I grew up wearing the rubberised sort of raingear, so anything semi-breathable seems pretty good), but I got a pair at least 12 years ago and they're still going strong. The jacket's had to be replaced, but trousers have held up well.

What do folk (who bother) use for water proofing on their legs? I could never get into the just get wet mindset, i think i'm part cat, but the waterproofs i've used all winter are boil in the bag and i can't use them if its not -5.
