Yeah no problems buying jeans (though I confess I generally don't wear jeans), but try buying blokes shoes in size 5....

Anything outside of "average" either isn't catered for or commands 4 x the normal price, larger or smaller!

Still, never mind, average is dull ;-)

Like the chap at work, I can only buy trousers at one outlet in Edinburgh, that is for tall women, at 36" inside leg I have always had a problem, with only American jeans manufacturers being long enough in the leg in the past. At 29" inside leg you will have absolutely no problem in that department.

I too have suffered the japes about the weather being possibly different from "up there", "my you're a tall/big lassie" and have on numerous occasions been called son (although this has not happened more recently I confess) because at 6' I must be a lad/man. It is getting better with far more tall women around now.

Now that I have got that off my chest...the FS frame although lovely is erring on the small side for me :-(

@Claggy Cog, yeah the "too tall" thing was a bit tongue in cheek, from talking to friends he should count himself lucky he's not a girl at way over 6 feet, they seem to have an even harder time finding clobber. That said I used to have a good friend who was tall enough he had to endure strangers in cafe's shops etc continually saying "gosh you're tall aren't you" as though he hadn't noticed :-(
(mind you, I think standing next to me emphasised the point!)

Not a fan of undersized frames myself (except on MTB's where the clearance can be nice for ones, erm... bits!) with a 29" inside leg however it's seldom a problem for me ;-)

@smudge - being on the tall side myself I personally find most cycling stuff is way tooooo small, and no such thing as too tall IMHO, and for the chap at work who is 6' 9" I think he should be able to claim disability allowance for his clothing requiring a 40" inside leg trouser.

I personally was never into the penchant for an undersized frame with fantastically long seat posts etc, just not right. Your frame should be about 10" less than you inside leg. This might explain why frames built in the 60's, 70's and even 80's are bigger comparatively

Interesting. That's the Soul Cycles bike. Was originally £190 I think - when I went to look at it I was told they'd let it go for £170. Dropped again (still can't justify it).

Nothing to do with me, just saw it on gumtree and thought someone on here might be interested... and wondered why all the cool framesets I see are either for too tall people or overpriced (sigh) ;-)
