Intensive mapping of each city's No Excuse Zone and cycling infrastructure was also undertaken, to determine how far the average person could ride from the city centre within 20 minutes and by what route.</p> <p>This research has brought him an informed understanding of what makes a successful cycle city - what works and what does not - in terms of strategic cycling networks and street infrastructure."</p> <p>How well this works in the real world remains to be seen, but it is still an interesting idea. </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=805#post-7002 Tue, 18 May 2010 09:48:01 +0000 cb 7002@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>Quite an interesting idea. The definition of the no exuse zone is not entirely clear to me.
