They tended to wait till there almost full before leaving.. They depart from stand 28/29 of Buchanan Bus station, which if you come from Queens St is the Hanover St end, so you don't need to walk up Buchanan st, if you want a shorter walk or in a hurry. Added bonus for us.. But as I haven't been to the Velodrome before, I didn't know about parking , and it's not clear from the info on the website. </p> <p>However as we're making it a day of it, we don't really have time pressure so will take the train and shuttle bus.. Shuttle bus will also be packed heading back the way, so likely to be queues for that (and one of the reasons I cycle everywhere in the city is because I don't particularly like public transport - I'm an anti-social sod).</p> <p>Basically in the car I'll be at Harthill by the time I'm getting on a train at Waverley, and I'll be in the velodrome by the time I'd be arriving at Queen Street. I've got a pair for the 18th - appears to be unreserved seating (looks like all the lower down reserved stuff has already gone), and for the 18th is for the whole day (other days have separate morning and evening tickets). So should have finals galore to watch.</p> <p>Interesting chance to see the new Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome as well. </p>
