It has all the winter stuff like Marathon Plus tyres, SON hub, Edelux light and a Brooks. They only made short wheel base M bars when I got it in 2001. It was a 12 speed with a Schlumpf for a few years but after I broke it the second time I ditched the idea. The Brompton BWR set up now has almost the same range for less weight and drag.</p> <p>When I put the car off the road with a busted water pump in 2006 I got the S6L which is a bit faster than the first one and I find it more comfortable. It probably gets the most mileage. It's nicer to ride than the M6R and it can go out in the rain.</p> <p>Then about a year ago I lost a stone and half so I could fit my kilt to go to a wedding. It made sense to get the superlight because there was less of me to slow it down. It's the best of the three to ride, partly because it's faster but also because it's simpler with its wee two speed set up. One gear for hills and starting off and the other gear for everything else.</p> <p>The memsahib can tell what the weather will be like by checking the downstairs toilet for a bike. The frame is 531DS, the groupo is mostly Campag Chorus with ErgoPower levers and the Racing T triple chainset.
