From what I hear a fair number of people cycle precisely because the parking is so chaotic. These same people have been waiting to see if it was possible to connect the ERI properly by instating a cycle path without steps and a road with less parked cars to go round.</p> <p>Now we will be using a massive amount of infrastructure to encourage car use - a fraction of which could have produced decent improvement to the existing routes. I notice that a few people suggest they should follow the airport model and go for multi-storey parking... not cheap either.<br /> Once the parking is there it will make the existing road even busier. 1200 extra vehicles is a fair amount. Mind you more cars = slower roads = more congestion at Cameron Toll thus making cycling even faster in comparison. Every time there is an opportunity to <em>increase</em> the number of cars on the roads they take it.</p> <p>Making noises about increasing the amount of cycling is pointless unless they also take steps to discourage the use of cars.
