I went with all of the Edinburgh couriers on opening night. Always funny seeing the way we're all portrayed, we all enjoyed it. The bike-continuity is the best bit ... sometimes bullhorns, sometimes risers and so on. less cliches than i would have thought, just an improbable trash film where the chases are done on a bike. The visualising how to get through junctions thing is pretty cheesy too (cannot be explained, needs to be seen).

Felt a bit like a straight to dvd film however, but i liked danny Mac's bits.

I was at the cinema with my wife on Friday and we went to see this, based soley on there being a bike in the poster. It was enjoyable, thanks to the cycling. Well worth it if youhave chldren of a suitable age I'd have thought (although there was one incident whose tone felt out of keeping).

I went to see 'Premium Rush' at the cinema last night and really enjoyed it.

Premium Rush (2012)
Director: David Koepp
Cast: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Shannon and Dania Ramirez

Synopsis from IMDB:In Manhattan, a bike messenger picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city.

Review:To my mind this is a little gem of a movie that I fear won't get the attention it deserves. At its heart it is a fast paced action film with stunning stunt work and reasonable dialogue.

Over the course of the film - a number of back-stories are played out, working backwards from the opening scene. I normally loathe films that jump around in a timeline but Premium Rush surprised me and succeeded in utilising this technique without overly complicating things.

The characters are likeable and nicely rounded and the film manages to show both the friendly rivalry between the messengers and the brother/sisterhood that risking your neck on the streets of New York can produce.

Premium Rush doesn't take itself too seriously and if you're after a fun evening out, I don't think you can go too wrong with this film. Look out for the comedic antics of the NYPD bike cop.

All in all I would give this film a 4/5.
