Have heard back from an enquiry that they remain unfinished due to the festival roadworks embargo, so I guess I’m holding fire until September!

Thanks both! I agree regarding this junction; personally I will continue to take a lane after passing Summerhall square, and I wonder if they would have done better to omit the segregation on the west side entirely.

I’m hoping to film a video about the various changes when the kerbs are filled and the cones are gone. If someone could let me know if spotted that would be great!

It’s just occurred to me maybe they have a delay sourcing their bollards - as these would maybe go in pre asphalt?

I cycled through Summerhall this afternoon. Just kerbs, so far. Heading north is a bit hair-raising, quite honestly. The hard-segregated lane feeds you into the ASL box, and if you're going straight on for the Meadows and the light is green, you're at quite high risk of being hit by a left-turning driver.

Fortunately my spidey senses caught this and I was able to nip into the adjacent lane before I reached the segregated bit.

I was in Summerhall today. The kerbs have yet to be infilled and there are some random cones left. One of the small corner kerbs has been dislodged.

Despite the changes it is still quite hairy crossing the main road in front of Summerhall as a pedestrian.

Southside question; has anyone passed through Sunmerhall in the last week and spotted whether the cones are yet gone and asphalt filling of the cycle lane kerbs completed, or did they use it all converting the George IV bridge cycle lane to a Boaby touching overflow zone (sorrynotsorry)

Bingo! I bet it was Lauriston St that I was thinking of - one way street in neighbourhood i know well, but rarely go down. Thank you!

There's a leather repair place on either Lauriston Street or Lady Lawson Street - he's very good.

Do you mean William Scott & Son sporran makers? The place always looks like it has shut down but they are still in business.

I like have a look for other options when I next go down Causewayside.

I'm sure that last time I cycled (or walked, having left bike?) from the BikeWorks to Dalkeith Road, I cut through to Causewayside via Sciennes House Place, and noticed a little leather repair shop on the left hand side. Did I imagine this? or has it closed? or is it on a different road entirely?

Any advice appreciated, or suggestions for somewhere else local that might be willing to restitch a much-loved pair of heavy sheepskin slippers.
