"the Metro has pledged to fix the rubbish Leseley Hinds problem by the end of the week" is a more credible anagram, I fear.

"Lesley Hinds has pledged (via the Metro letters page) to fix the rubbish problem by the end of the week"

She did that last week (too?)

Perhaps you could highlight the disposable/throw-away nature of the camera by cycling around Edinburgh taking photos of various growing piles of rubbish. (not that I've seen any but keep reading about it in the Hootsman)

But you'd better be quick because Lesley Hinds has pledged (via the Metro letters page) to fix the rubbish problem by the end of the week.

"Mounted on the spokes would be pretty cool, but firing the shutter could be treacherous."

Tape the shutter-button down so that it would release as soon as re-cocked by the film advance wheel, then jam it in the spokes with something mounted on the appropriate bit of the fork to tweak the thumbwheel forward a bit with each revolution?

@steveo - I thought these cameras often come with a little clockwork self-timer? I wasn't suggesting you stick your hands in the direction of the whirling spokes to try and take your picture!

Facing me might be worth a try, not sure about getting all my chins in mind.

Mount it on the spokes?

Mount it somewhere watching you, rather than it watching where you're going?

Something like that.

I was thinking fairly far down the head tube so the front wheel was in the frames, problem is getting at the shutter whilst not crashing on Edinburgh potholes. High enough on the down tube would work, its just like getting a bottle out the cage. Would need to be offset so that too much of the frame isn't lost to the bike.

Is it for one of these disposable-camera-24-challenge sorts of thing?
Disposables aren't the smoothest things to wind so you'd want it somewhere where pressing reasonably hard against the thumbwheel and turning it isn't going to have any adverse effects on bicycle-control. If there was a portion of bike in the frame of each shot it'd give the results some context. Jam/tape it into a downtube bottle cage so that it looks past the front wheel?

Yeah, one off. Has to be a disposable for the challenge.

Is this a one-off project?

If not you would be better off with a cheap digital camera - even a mobile 'phone.

I have a random project to use a disposable camera to take some photies, I figure the most interesting thing to do would be something one wouldn't do with a real camera. My initial plan was to strap it to the bars and ride around for an hour and see what took my interest. Any better ideas? Constraints, I must be able to reach the shutter and the winder once per shot (safely)...
