Graham Allen MP has called for helmets to be compulsory (and must be included with a new bike sale, as well as lights and reflective clothing) and BMXs to be banned from the public highway because many don't have brakes (erm technically this is already illegal) or lights (ditto, and not a particular BMX problem).</p> <p>He <em>also</em> wants better cycling infrastructure napparently.</p> <p>Whole article <a href="http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/Deaths-Notts-roads-spark-MP-s-tighter-cycling/story-17209727-detail/story.html">here</a>.</p> <p>Selected quotes:</p> <p>"<em>I believe that we must all be responsible road users; motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
