Actually I've just thought of a potentially good/rubbish one. 5:20 on the lift bridge and you might get some good cycling ones. Might try that tomorrow evening.

Might be something doable at Colinton. Not sure if you could get a view of the bridge.

Instead of looking down, why not up? Would that work or would you need a telephoto lens? Royal Mile, Dundas Street, Rodney Street, Candlemaker Row?

How about from the lattice-work bridge looking down over Leith Street? Not so high, but shouldn't be too many obstructions.

How close do you want to be? George IV Bridge looking down on the Cowgate? I got some nice light trails from Waverley one evening if doesn't have to be cars.

No sure how well the Radical road would work, your pretty far away from the less-radical-though-slightly-scarier road although it is pretty dark.

Calton Hill doesn't reeeeaaaaaally have a convenient close road with interesting patterns - certainly not from the top (I was up there last week taking some photos of a friend for her blog and there's a beautiful cityscape - I suppose scrambling to some lower slopes would give some more opportunity - may check that out).

Blackford Hill might be a go-er - time for GoogleMaps to check out the roads around there...

Braid Hill's not bad either, although a bit far away for anything close-up:

Might sound a bit of a random query, basically I'm looking for a point with a decent view of a wee bit of the road network below where I can get a nice light trail photo. Best I can think of is on the Radical Road - I've seen some light trails from there with lovely swirls around the roundabouts and so on, but given I've seen from there I'm looking for somewhere else if possible (and the bridge across Leith Street similarly gives a nice shot down past the Playhouse roundabout, but has been done quite a few times).

Ta muchly.
