Hairdryer for a couple of minutes or so at the delinquent bit. Works every time, but watch you don't get burned by the rubber.

I got my Marathon +s on with the aid of talcum powder after having the same issue as you (Johnstones Baby AIR). Less messy than detergent and you and your bike will smell nice at the end and there are not many bike-related activities you can say that about!

I generally deflate it, then grip hard, squeeze and waggle it side to side a number of times. This tends to help it to sit properly. Sure it isn't pinching a bit of the inner tube?

"Any suggestions?"

For other tight rim/tyre combinations I was advised to use Fairy Liquid (other brands may work) as a lubricant and pump up HARD.

Usually works.

Oh elders of this parish... (in a wise sense, rather than aged)

I've stuck my usual winter set of marathon pluses back on the Fuego, and I can't for the life of me get the rear tyre beads sat in the rim properly. No amount of persuasion shifts a flat spot that makes it feel like I'm on a permanent rumble strip.

I've tried taking it on and off, over inflating by 20psi, riding on it for two days (I'm pickin' up good vibrations...) and shouting at it.

Any suggestions?
