Some are universal to leaving the house in the first place, the rest for the car or public transport. It would of course be absurd to expect any cycling advice. </p> <p>Things like:<br /> - Be prepared to be called mad.<br /> - Expect more spaces in the bike racks in your place of employment.<br /> - If buying appropriate clothing, remember that judgemental creepy men may be lurking in bushes pointedly not taking pictures of you.</p> <p>Annnnnnyway, wee blue floofy has made the transformation to wintersaurus, by which I mean the studded tyres are back on and a mudguard that fits them has been bodged on, courtesy of the Bike Station and a few seconds work at home with bolt croppers. </p> <p>Head warmth will be achieved partly by leaving the beard in part-swallowed Yorkshire terrier mode, and partly with a merino buff.</p> <p>Windproofing is taken care of by new cycling top, which is white with 3M trim for night time visibility, although it occurs to me that's going to be effective camoflauge in the snow. Might be able to wear a heavier jacket in sub-zero, but I doubt it.</p> <p>Still using my homebrewed into high-viz ski gloves. </p>
