I assumed that must be the going rate for these things.</p> <p>But that article says Liverpool's scheme is going to cost £1.5million. That actually looks like quite good value. They also let anyone become a cyclist at the drop of a hat. Sounds like a winner to me, the users don't have the expense of purchase or the worry of theft either. Say the daily uses are 30,000 as 'normal' - that would mean 500,000 bike trips a day in London. Is that right? This is in a city with a 2% bicycle mode share. They are completely insignificant.
