The average person makes about 1,000 trips a year, or roughly three trips per day &#124; Of the 651 trips within the town made by private cars every year, 195 could be made by bicycle &#124; Most people over-estimate the contribution made by the private car to everyday mobility, believing it to be twice as great as it actually is! &#124; There is mounting evidence that the bicycle should play a central part in the future development of city transport systems. &#124; Promoting a positive public image of the bicycle as personal transport represents the best way forward.&#60;/p&#62;
