The driver perhaps observed it, dismissed it as "not a thing to worry about" and looked further ahead. Whereas actually a bike moves, is in the carriageway and clearly needs to be manoeuvered around. </p> <p>Not at all to defend vehicular manslaughter, but I can understand the psychology of the driver - observe ("red shiny thing"), assess ("won't be in my way"), move on.
