That is very muddy just now, particularly at the bottom of my garden [second last garden before you get to the end of the path]. when dry, very child and family friendly.</p> <p>Wind did seem to be non-existent until 11 am so canal would have been nice. Today we were tempted to stay on, but turned off on NCN 75 (aka WoL)</p> <p>The hills were okay (stoker will help if pressed) but the mud was really a pain. With a decent surface, would ave been a lovely ride. The sides of my knees hurt now. The regional park is keen for people to access the Pentlands elsewhere and much talk of charging for harlaw and thriepmuir car parks which have been done up. About 20 miles total. We'd walked the WoL a few years back, but had never got past Balerno. Couldn't believe the number of cars in the car parks (and the roads around). It was very nice though.
