As I say, I think I was just a blip, but basically just involved them sending the frame to Mercian with a note to remove and retain the fittings, and paint the frame black. Mercian found the chainstay problem, contacted Eastside to get guidance on whether to proceed with the repair, who never passed on any messages. Originally opened by an American dude (hence Eastside) but I don't remember the year. Business was sold on the the present owner. Mercian on getting no response from Eastside for a couple of months (after finding out the chainstay needed to be replaced and wanting to know if I was happy for them to go ahead) tracked me down on Twitter of all places and I worded it all out with them directly; then appears they also didn't pass on to Mercian the request that the bottom bracket and headset were to be retained once removed, which is the main reason it <em>still</em> isn't on the road.</p> <p>This was all a good few years ago now, and I'd be willing to give them a go again, but it was all rather disappointing. Quick, efficient service, quality repairs. Oh and the rates are incredibly reasonable. I can't recommend them highly enough.</p> <p>No, I'm not working for them, nobody bribed me to say this, I'm just a very happy customer, and I feel like sharing that. </p>
