It appears that cars will be moved to the pound if parked in certain places, or if parked somewhere cones and signs are put in place; whereas if it is short notice/no chance of putting up cones etc. beforehand then cars are omved to the nearest available street (which is what happened in this case).</p> <p>Interesting. His car was picked up and moved by the police at about midnight one night and dumped in a neighbouring street. They pick your car up and move it somewhere else out of the way. This happened to me when I lived in Leith and they decided to clear all the parked cars from North Juction Street to ease access to the Tall Ships (about 1994). One of my other half's colleagues came out of his house this morning to find his car gone - obviously thought it was stolen. Turns out the Council were repainting lines and had moved it (presumably by that crane thing for VED dodgers) - thing is, there were no signs up, no cones, no warning that this was taking place.</p> <p>I don't think the car has been damaged, but I presume if the council are going to do this they have to give warning??? </p>
