Kim - no - I just tend to go out and cycle...

I'll try and get one drawn up if you like

Kaputnik - Probably, but I'm a cyclist, I ignore such things :)

I regularly do an orbit of Edinburgh - starting at Cramond and follow the coast to Musselburgh, across to Kinnaird Park, Danderhall then wiggle along Ferniehill drive to end at Lanark Road - Balerno - Riccarton - Gogar - Turnhouse- Cramond, as my boundary route.

It's fun and only takes a couple of hours (and you begin and end next to a café)

@cc, ah but then you'd have to define the southern boundary, which can be tricky.

Another issue is perhaps route. If it were the City Council boundaries then you've the bypass to avoid, and quite a few path closures in Midlothian to contend with.

There are probably many definitions of what you could pick to ride.

The old city would be defined by the walls, or you could go for the traditional burgh boundary and do a bit of Leith / Edinburgh history and then realise that a lot of what we now think of as being Leith didn't used to be in the Burgh of Leith. Or you could go for the current City Council boundary which would be comparatively huge to ride.

I seem to remember there was some discussion of the idea of a Common Riding around the boundaries of Edinburgh.

Does anyone know this can to anything?

If there was/is such a ride what would the route be?

Is a bounder ride a good idea?
