The criterium races over at Ingliston are a little short on marshals, so friend-of-POP Oisín Murphy-Lawless has asked me to pass on this plea for helpers:</p> <p>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br /> Basically, I need four bodies total. The<br /> first two will be doing marshalling on our main circuit from about<br /> 5.50. One to help traffic as it's coming on site, the other to make<br /> sure traffic doesn't come onto the race course by accident. This is for<br /> the first two races of the evening on the main circuit. Then for the<br /> third race, one of the marshalls repositions to the parking area in<br /> front of the Royal Highland HQ.</p> <p>In terms of the marshalling, it's fairly light work - the entrance isn't<br /> too busy, and traffic is light to non-existent by the main race. It is<br /> key to keep an eye on the bunch as they go round though. If someone has<br /> a crash, the marshall needs to radio for first aid and give the numbers<br /> of who has gone down. They need to have a reasonable idea of what<br /> happened (it's hard to see in the bunch, but any extra pair of eyes is<br /> appreciated).</p> <p>The second two volunteers will be start out assisting Andy in Race HQ,<br /> and then act in a similar capacity for the Women's Race on the smaller<br /> circuit. One will be positioned at a pedestrian crossing near the race<br /> hq, just to make sure people don't cross as the bunch comes round.
