@Dom D - the PS website's only way of reporting by email that I can find is the 'Contact Us' form, for "issues of a non-serious nature". Doesn't seem the right place. Otherwise the only option is to call 101.

@Colonies_Chris - you can use either method. The 'Contact Us' form ensures all the information gets to me in an auditable manner so that I can legitimately make some enquiries. Given there is no corroboration at this time the details will be for information/intelligence only. 101 normally only take brief details though. If possible, please include as many details about the driver/passenger as you can.

Just to clarify the advice above is for @Colonies_Chris as we don't have corroboration. Although the issue is serious as such it's ok to highlight the circumstances of the incident in this manner. I can't just go looking at vehicle details or seeing if there has been other calls because I've read it on a public forum. The 'Contact Us' message ensures it gets to me formally. A 101 call with these circumstances could potentially be 'advice given due to lack of corroboration'' and job closed without me having sight of it.
The Contact Us form Is regularly used to report speeding etc. It's happened. It's serious. We can't prove it retrospectively. But it allows us to select appropriate locuses to conduct checks in future.
Same principle with Close Pass locations. Some have casualty figures but many are suggested by the public - especially Queens Drive!
Hope that helps.
Going forward if you've got corroboration or there's an immediate need to report (concern for ongoing manner of driving for example) it's 101 (or 999 depending on severity).

@dom / @rob I reported via 101 and emailed contact form a link to Google drive and officer who investigated had to use personal device to access although I suspect he was accessing the public YouTube video.
Ps @Dom Is it worth reporting a Red light jump Whist using a mobile that happened over 2 weeks ago? Sorry I was going to check the footage when I got home to check that it caught it and Family life got in the way. Before I knew it 2 weeks has passed.

@StepRam - most officers 'just make it work' in credit to themselves. If the footage is going as a production to the court either you'll have to burn it (and sign certificates etc) or give us the SD card/device to extract data ourselves (later returned) (much later...). If it's just to view it to ascertain what's happened we normally find a way to make it work. An upload to google drive with a private link sent to the officer will likely work in future once our computers are upgraded (we're mid upgrade at the moment).
Re the red light./mobile. You're out of time I'm afraid. Notices must be served within 14 days.

Re- Productions and Chain of Custody paperwork, Day Job is IT specifically Forensics so totally ok with that side of things. Just Road Policing is not my area at all.
I'm led to believe Your new IT Kit will even let you access 4k Video, from the Dark Ages to the Future in one leap. Perhaps!

That is so bad. Meant to be a major cycling link as well whenever the canal-Roseburn path is built (unless the canal access at Yeaman Pl is finally sorted, which it won't be).

Aye, looks to be just at the eastern end of Fountain park. The close up of the drains a few tweets down is worth looking at too, if you hasn't seen it already, the first photo doesn't show that they're not flush with the road surface.

Yes this is the bit where they had this fairly pointless reservation in the middle of the road (which, to be fair, did provide refuge if you wanted to turn right into Gibson Terrace) turned into a traffic island, instead of doing something useful with all that road width. (I would say that with all the empty land/building going on between Akva and Fountain Park it would have been quite easy to put in a proper cycle lane without even taking away much, if any, sacred car space, but no.)

That is truly grotesque infrastructure and should be removed at once.

Some contraflow lanes are also mandatory. Canaan Lane is one, perhaps St Bernard's Bridge is as well.

One of the things I just don't get; when I'm at work I need to be able to identify the customer for each bit of work I'm doing. Who's asked for it, who's going to say if it's acceptable or not, who's paying for it.
For the life of me I can't imagine who would ask for this or pay their own money for it.
