Edinburgh is now in a good position to continue momentum over the next few years.
The decision was made to build this in 2014; construction is due to start in 2019. The Meadows to Canal project may be even longer. That's quite some momentum.

My wife saw the gazebo and a very cold looking Council bod at 4.30.

My husband dropped by at about 3pm ish and had a VERY interesting chat with the Council chap.
In fact, the Council chap was bouncing with excitement (well, maybe I'm extrapolating) because a local architect had stopped off earlier and said "by the way, do you know that the parking here (https://goo.gl/maps/ecKoQqbw27P2 - about 12 spaces on Russell Road near Tesco in what looks like a development parking lot) is actually council parking not housing development parking?"It sounds as though this was News! It is apparently mostly used by residents in that development and commuters who dump their cars for the day. However, if a 2hr max limit could be put on it then it would instantly free up all those spaces for the poor shoppers who can't get parked in Roseburn because of the evil cycle lanes.

@LivD: ooh, that *is* interesting! Of course if a time limit was suggested then there will be yet more EEN stories about war on motorists as sad-faced locals are pictured complaining about loss of "their" parking.

Indeed. The entrance further down has signs "Private Property. Residents Parking Only", whereas this entrance has no such signs...

Having it clearly signposted as a short stay pay and display car park from the main road would be a big win for everyone.
One thing we seem to do badly in Edinburgh is signposting where actual short stay parking is, it tends to be hidden on tiny signs which are overloaded in a sea of loading and greenway restrictions.

They look very similar to the plans previously seen, but there are probably some subtleties I'm missing. They look good, although I am slightly concerned how well the one-way on Roseburn Gardens will be observed. It will be tempting for some to chance it I think.

A lot of it is as per the #OptionA design at Christmas.
New things include:
Design for Murrayfield Place & the Old Coltbridge which will evolve further with the Rejuvenating Roseburn work.
15 short stay car parking spaces in the Maltings
A slight kink and narrowing of the cycle path at the Donaldson's exit to give vehicles a chance to check for traffic without blocking either the pavement or cycle path.
New toucan by Donaldson's exit/ Stanhope Street
There will be more but they're not coming to mind.

Looks fab
It appears to be close to the design of Meadows-Innocent which is broadly a good thing.
Love the junction detail in and out of Devon Pl
Stanhope St looks like the weakest point - cycleway becomes shared space at the ped xing in order to keep 3 traffic lanes
My big constructive comment would be more continuous footway - ala Middlefield, and less raised table - ala Albert St.
If I remember right there is/was an aversion to two way traffic over continuous footway given how novel it is here. Given how well Middlefield is working perhaps they could be swung for more.

Traffic backed up from Roseburn to Western Corner this morning. The van loading* can't have helped. These plans which stop peak time loading should improve things.
*it genuinely was loading for once.
