    Pedal With Parliament!

"Write to the new councillors next week. Ask to meet with them. Go cycling with them etc."
"How much better if councillors were invited by their voters."

    Awesome idea!

"I'm sure all wards have parks with flat, soft, grassy bits."

I'd prefer to take them on the bits that aren't easy, but are the parts I'm most concerned about!

    I'd combine a few neighbouring wards maybe? e.g. 7 and 9...

Yes - the grassy park is for those who 'can't' cycle.

    Fair enough :)

The idea of a cycle into town reminds me of the idea of a regular 'bike group commute' that minimoth and a few other friends were talking about a while ago. We struggled with how to do it logistically - people are usually wanting to get to different places, at different times. Would there be 2 meeting points (e.g. West end of Princes Street at 5:30pm and outside Sainsbury's on Gorgie Road at 8:30am)?

I think there might be quite a few people interested in it!

what if it got to ~40 bikes/day - which isn't impossible... would that be good/bad?!

I'll have to make another thread for that... [edit: not yet though, let's sort one thing at a time].
