Suspicious chap with boardman white racer heading from Harrison Road to Harrison gardens approx 3 pm today. If anyone had bike stolen maybe in CCTV outside margiottas on Harrison gardens. I'm sure he wasn't the owner he looked absolutely wasted pushing not riding it on his mobile

Nice camouflage. Did anyone realise before it was built by looking at the designs that it was going to be the same colour paving stones instead of asphalt ?

    @Neddie,

It's particularly narrow if you don't want to cycle through the muddy gutter or the likely slippery ironwork.

I am spotting a lot of joggers on the white line between the pedestrian and the cycle lanes on the meadows.

certain times of day this happens a lot. to be fair, mainly when the pedestrian side is congested. wouldn't be a problem is the lanes weren't;t so narrow / if there were protected ones on alternate routes.

what I really hate is the big groups of runners who just steam roll through at busy times.

Was some sort of organised running event yesterday lunchtime, they had marshals at a few key point, but most of the runners were clearly chasing times and would run wherever there was space. North Meadow Walk was pretty bad.

A slow high five with gembo on the canal towpath this morning and a tip off about a nearby kingfisher that I duly spotted.

The findings revealed that Geordies and people in Edinburgh are looking forward to Christmas the least, with only 39% and 37% respectively more excited than last year. Here are the top Christmassy-feeling cities in the UK in order of those looking forward to Christmas most:

    London (61%)
    Birmingham (60%)
    Southampton (56%)
    Manchester (54%)

    Leeds (52%)
    Cardiff (52%)
    Plymouth (50%)
    Brighton (50%)
    Sheffield (50%)
    Liverpool (50%)
    Norwich (50%)
    Bristol (49%)
    Glasgow (48%)

'Tis the season to dread! We're going to the Fair City gig tomorrow night - antidote to Black Friday's hyperconsumerism.

@gembo - we were at the Supreme Court rally and the organiser Lesley Riddoch invited Colin Fox to speak.
He made it clear to the assembled brother and sisters that the European Union was not what his vision of an Indy Scotland was about.
One of our two illuminated flagpoles had an EU flag on it - oh well!
Was fairly upbeat as court clarified what we probably suspected.

Ack. I forgot about that bit as an example of what not to do on the last consultation I filled in as I haven't used that since a week after it appeared.

I think I exchanged smiles with @algo on Warrander Park Rd. I was walking to Alpine Bikes which seems to have good deals on clothing right now.

Very nice to see you @bill - very sorry for not stopping and for belated recognition out of context! Well recognised indeed :-) Youngest was trying out slightly too big mountain bike and we were making laborious progress which is fairly typical at the moment - unlike my eldest with whom I have to plead for mercy on a regular basis.

@algo glad it was you! I am not surprised it was hard going on a too big bike, on cobbles and into the headwind!
