This is a new thread to post GOOD NEWS about someone you have encouraged to start cycling!!
I'll start off with a couple.
I have a mate in Widnes, who I use to dive with and is a freind on Farcebook. I saw he had bought a new bike and posted pics about is on the social website. I congratulated him and enquired more, to which he answered that, he had seen all my cycling updates and wondered what it was all about. This led to him buying a bike through his cycle assisted purchase scheme* (*other branded schemes are available). YAY!!!
A colleague her at work has seen me coming in in cycle gear and heard all my exploits in the kitchen as we OD on Caffine based drinks. He approached me about which bike to buy, how much they were and where to ride etc... This led to him narrowing down to a couple of bikes from an Edinburgh based co-operative bike shop (no names, no pack drill) which I then helped him with the choice. He bought a bike last week and has been on a few rides (spotted Laidback bikers on Tuesday at Cramond). He got lost on one ride, so he then asked me about my GPS. I brought mine in and showed him the office copy of Spokes Edinburgh Map (bought by me). He has now bought a Spokes map and decided on a GPS to buy! He tells me he's enjoying riding and starting to extend his rides, going along the canal last night.
