Gino hasn't worn the wig for about 10 years and his dad died a long time ago. It's now Gino's son who works there. I think Gino's mum is still around but I haven't seen her for a wee while.

You'll still get a decent feed for about £5 and the veggie pizza had jalapenos in it yesterday. The topping varies a bit depending on what tins they have open. If someone has a knickerbocker glory then you'll get pineapple on your pizza too.

I had a Brompton S2L-X with me. As you will remember the Cafe isn't big but I sat the bike on the floor beside me and Gino never turned a hair (boom boom). That's my kind of establishment. The person I was having lunch with was an old uni friend who I hadn't seen for about 8 years and he expressed some surprise at how such a "funny wee bike" could get from Airdrie to Glasgow.

Ahhh, Edinburgh Alpine, I didn't know there was one. A guy called Allan Rogan (I think) used to run the Glasgow one and worked in Dales before that.

My MSP, Karen Whitefield, has a lot of comments on her web page about busses to a Jail near Shotts somewhere. My comments are about wars and how Keir Hardy might feel about her voting patterns or Lord McConnell helping the Tories so they get deleted quite quickly.

I checked her expenses and couldn't find any mention of bus travel. It seems they are OK for other people.

there is a jail in Shotts, of all the ones I've been in (professional capacity) it is the toughest. Long sci-fi like walks down large plastic tubes to get to the prisoners living conditions. We were always keen to get out at lunch time but downtown Shotts was not replete with cafes. I sometimes consider cycling out there to check out the gentrification (if any).

Ford Keirnan from Chewin THe Fat (a very keen cyclist) voted Gino's Dad his top Scot (for the millenium or new year or somefink). When asked why he said it was because one night about 11pm Gino';s dad was serving him and said the following, in characteristic Italian Scot's, "Haud oan a wee minute, ah cannae serve you noo as ah've goat tae get the big polis a wee cuppa tea"
