Wow. ARobComp is going some!
Posted 11 years ago # -
Scrolled up so knew gracemount but not where. Then scrolled to beginning and had entire route but not control station, if only I had scrolled to the middle.

Wow. ARobComp is going some!
A bit of off the cuff calculation & I make that 260 odd miles in 12 hours, an average of 22mph. Please tell me that he isn't doing that. Really??!!!
EDIT 220ish miles @18mph. Phew! at least he is human. Still darned impressive.
Posted 11 years ago # -
That was his plan. Cycling average quite a bit over 20mph - only down to 18 because of the stops! He had it planned as a series of 50-100 mile 'sprints'.
Posted 11 years ago # -
Right......so he isn't really human then?
Posted 11 years ago # -
He's reached Thirsk. 400k in just over 15 hours. Impressive!
Darkerside has got to Market Rasen, just under 250k in a bit over 13 hours. More like the kind of pace I can understand...

Was just going to say he's on move again. Another recliner from up this way is following. He's posted on Facebook so have asked for his number.

Allez allez CCE riders!
Darkerside made it to Pocklongton in the wee small hours.
ARobComp is already at Brampton this morning!
Posted 11 years ago # -
Another LB recliner - Julian P is at Thirsk.
Posted 11 years ago # -
The first rider reached Edinburgh at 9:40 this morning, a pretty good time!
Last event was a bit quicker at 24:48 for the first half but the route wasn't the same, I guess.
Tailwinds and big packs to pull each other along... speedy times!

Should keep ticking over, although I'm not sure (very shoestring, lunch hour effort).
Have also done one for Rob and Darkersider:

Yellow Furai is at Brampton. Not sure if that's on list?
Posted 11 years ago # -
They should have a ELE for people who live north of the border.
Posted 11 years ago # -
Just popped home to get some warmer things.
Up at Gracemount there's lots of wiry old beards, huge amounts of bike pr0n, and a fair amount of fatigue. Only seen one person that looked in real difficulty, though.
Chapeau indeed.

My goodness that was impressive ARobComp.

Quest XS heading south by LaidBackBikes, on FlickrThis evening was good. Tyres pumped up and a wheel adjust by Dave. Bruce was there and Darren. Also Ulli (Kim's partner) was there on the overnight shift.
Bikes coming in every five or ten minutes. Only one big group of around 6. Some heading south when I left at 9.45.
Saw Bruce heading back up at Kings Buildings... Council are aware of event but nothing much PR wise.
