  1. Hey folks, just wondering if anyone would fancy joining me and Laidback on a wee bimble next week down to Cramond after work (5.30pm for me). At the moment Thursday 22nd looks best for me.

Head out from city centre/West End along the off-road paths and pop out down along the shorefront for a couple of beers staying as long or as short as you care.

    Anyone interested?

Aye i'd be up for that, Archives seems like a good meeting place just round the square from the office.

Sounds good but I'd struggle to make 5.30pm. Maybe 6pm if I got an earlier train (52min average commute indeed)

I'll be there in spirit but unfortunately not in person since I can't make this date.

My attendance would depend on whether I manage to get Thursday afternoon off work.

If yes, I'll be watching the Tourmalet stage of the TdF live at home and will be able to join you at 5.30pm. If no, I'll have recorded the stage and will be anti-socially spending my evening in a darkened room watching some very thin men putting themselves through all sorts of pain...

    Cheers,
    Philip

7pm round ups are for wimps! I've been recording and watching the Eurosport live coverage most weeknights. (And then I wonder what's happened to my social life...)

One of my favourite places in Edinburgh, and have never cycled there, but I fly out the next morning with 3 year old on a transatlantic flight, so think my time would be better spent panicking packing...

steveo you suggest National Archive cut through.

The big Water of Leith bridge on the Roseburn Path is what I was thinking...

Yes I know this detail should have been at start ;-)

Away from traffic noise and space to park bikes?

    cb Can alight at Haymarket?

We can't keep everyone happy so let's call this a prototype run for the next meet!

I don't know the path that well, sounds like a better idea but i don't know where the bridge is.

Sorry - maybe one of our virtual mapping experts can put up the location... ? chdot?

    Hang on...

    Cycle Streets Map

Not correct at last section as normally go down to prom.

Small maps show you location of bridge.

Actually mister, I suggested NAS/NCN1. But the Roseburn bridge is actually a bit easier for me to get to after work, so I'm cool with either.

Steveo, it's the high bridge over the river, a wee bit north of the bridge over Roseburn Terrace at Wester Coates Terrace.

I'll come along - sounds like fun.

although if someone could post a decisive answer to where we are gonna meet before next thursday that would be good. My office is grassmarket so from there its pretty good to get anywhere.

Dunno if I can make it to Roseburn in time but I may be able to free run down to the Crammond Inn and look for a bunch of disreputable cyclist types....

Anth hasn't commented for a while. I'll leave last word to him. The Roseburn path WoL viaduct was only a suggestion.
