Would a first aid course for cyclists be worthwhile arranging from this forum?
Who would be interested?
Anyone know how to get a course arranged?
I'd be happy to organise or just help.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Think this has been offered on here before.
I'd be interested - always up for a refresher, and I found the previously posted First Aid for Cyclists informative, even though I thought the priority order (catastrophic bleeding before airway) was unorthodox.

Thanks for the link Robert - I was struggling to find it
Catastrophic bleeding before airway is the conventional advanced life support (ALS) order, however; if the bleeding is catastophic enough to jump up the DRsABC order then frankly if you haven't already got some serious medical clout on-site then it's a pretty grim situation. I'd suggest ignoring it, as you'll do far more good in the vast majority of circumstances attempting to sort out A(irway) and B(reathing).
I was workplace first aid officer for nine years; originally taught by an ex miner. He had seen everything and made my experiences seem pretty tame - I dealt with cuts and grazes, a knee dislocation and several seizures. But I would be up for an informal training session if you organised one.
@Darkerside - that explains it, I'm just a HSE first aider.
@Cyclingmollie - our trainer worked for the railways, similarly "experienced" beyond what I encounter in the office!
Robert
If you're just after something informal tailored at cyclists I'd be happy to run a session if someone else could organise logistics. I've been meaning to write up a crib sheet for a while anyway, so this would be a good incentive.
If people are keen for a certificate, however, it'll have to be something official I'm afraid!
I can probably assist with a venue, and have access to a few manky Annies [1]...
Robert
[1] No offence to any real Annies!
