C2C > F2F New route & ride in early Sept 2013

    Thanks for the link cb, I have a map which was given to us for the ride last Sept. Its interesting that they have changed the route through Edinburgh. We came in on the Innocent and through the centre which was a right PITA. John G wanted a route through the city but I think he has discovered its not a place for the faint of heart and ppl can always cycle back in if they want.

    I know there is a wish to use disused railway paths but from Moffat one could follow the course of the road north of the Southern Upland Way past Tibbisheilds Inn towards Innerleithen which would be much quieter than the A701 until some off road path is constructed the whole way to Peebles.

    Whose bright idea was "The Edinburgh Road has advisory cycle lanes each
    side. These could be concentrated into a segregated
    2 way cycle lane on the north side of the road for
    convenience.    " (Map 5 page 7)? Other people might be cycling on that road going other places than alon the F2F. Surely a segregated lane each side is much better for everybody.
