Bit of a whiteout round these parts at the moment. Kids in the streets having snowball fights, and I see Waitrose are still delivering as there's a van at a neighbour's.

Working from home. Only issue is radiators upstairs are all cold - suspect we may have slightly frozen feeder pipe somewhere.

Colleague got a phone call from his wife saying it is horrendous at Fairmilehead, so loads of people are bailing out.

Looking out the window, Morrison St is covered despite the traffic.

We've been told to head home before 3pm (a lot of colleagues live on the outskirts or a train ride away). Glad I brought the 29er, though it's really just drivers' behaviour + snow I'm worried about.

Just realised that everyone who left is driving. People walking/cycling/busing are still here....

Wishing I'd ridden in today, looks like fun with the right clothing! Instead sat here nervously waiting for the garage finish giving the car its MOT :(

Office closing too. I could stay, seeing as I can move in any conditions, but I was the last to leave when there was an optional leave for hurricane bawbag.

Schools closed Thursday too according to council, but not had message from school yet.

I just closed my office. It's quite terrifying outside. Heading home should be interesting.

Today was perhaps the first day that I didn't witness a single vehicle breaking the 20 mph speed limit in town, although there were many drivers who were very slowly driving through red lights and/or wheel-spinning in way too low gears. A fair number of cyclists out and about too.

My office closed at 12 so back home. Not seen one bike on long dalmahoy today. The road is quite bad not even the normal cars that use as short cut to balerno. Tempted to head out, not one to sit around when not at work but may look a bit negligent if cycle when this snowy, can not even see road so may just go for walk. Looks nice in the snow

Office closed too. Short run from Leith to Porty not too bad, a few slips with the spikes. Wind a pain as forgot glasses.

Too scared to go home a face house full of kids with cabin fever, so retreated to cafe.

    Spindrift on the Meadows!

Not too slippy on bouncy tyres but I've just had a wee rant on Facebook about people in cars. Would have been a fun spin home otherwise.

ETA Slush filled hidden potholes were a bit of an issue

Was out this morning and had a lovely fun ride in the snow.

Just been out again, definitely a windchill issue. Fingertips got cold v quickly.

Ok not the greatest gloves but if I’d been going more than a couple of miles I’d have got a bit worried!

my team were told to bug out at lunchtime I hung on for a bit but in the end I can do about as much at home as I can in the office. Office was cloed an hour ago. Broomhouse path had been plowed and gritted but I suspect the volume of fresh fall will have reduced the effect of that.

It was quite pleasent before the wind got up (under a microfleece, down jacket and heavy waterproof) , walking along the broomhouse path into the teeth of the wind wasn't ideal.

Lots of cars driving very slowly around Craigleith shopping center car park. Spindrift on Leith Links. It was harsh when I set out from the office but mild again when I emerged from the shop, until I reached Leith Links and felt my beard freezing. Might let a bit of air out of the tyres for later/tomorrow to cope with the frozen ruts but otherwise no slips, just the odd bit of wheelspin and tramlining on slushy lumps.

St John's Road and Glasgow Road were in a much worse condition this afternoon, huge amounts of brown sludge and what appeared to be some patches of ice too. Stay safe out there...

I stocked up on milk for added weight on the rear tyre - worked well :-)

Made it most of the way home relatively uneventfully, until I entered a neighbouring street and strayed onto @acsimpson's turf. He & his crew started pelting me with snowballs...

May have to load up with my crew and return the favour #WestEdinburghHeliosWars

Briefly proper snowing in Stockbridge but it's stopped again. I'm not asking for The Day After Tomorrow but I was hoping to spend tomorrow morning wrapped in a blanket, wearing my pjs and working from home (bed). Unless the weather gods get their finger out this seems unlikely...
